I have been shooting chrome and negative film that are 3 to 5 years old without much affect to the color. Only Astia 100F has a slight sensitivity issue (I now rate it at 80). The Provia 400F has been shooting fine at rated speed (not sure if it is showing slightly more grain though). I bought a "beep" load of it way back when a pro photographer had switched to digital. He stated that they were kept refrigerated since, so I bought it all. I am still shooting with the same batch till this day and can't seem to get rid of the stuff
