Today I won my first Electro

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Finally, today I won my first Electro 35 camera on Tradera – the swedish ebay. 140 SEK, $18. It might seam odd that I don’t have the most popular Yashica-camera as I am the owner of YashicaForum.com but I started with the SLR-part and Yashinon / Yashica-lenses for my Cano EOS 350D.

Well then… hurray :D

Communities for Yashica users

Saturday, December 13th, 2008

I started YashicaForum with the hope to gather a larger community with Yashica users – and we have had a very good start at that. But I wanted to give you some tip on other Yashica communities you might not be aware of (I hope we don’t compete but help eachother), some Flickr-groups for example:

Well, there’s more if you search. You can also find them on Facebook, but the groups on Facebook are often to silent for my taste. People don’t discuss anything, they are to busy sending silly animated gif’s to eachother… so I won’t link to them here.

Peak in statistics – link from stumbleupon?

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

We got a big peak in statistics earlier this weak, I think it was a link from stumbleupon. That show you how important social web has become, in this case a difference between 100 och 300 visitors a day. It’s a bit sad to see it level down again though.

The use of a Yashica forum

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Why would one start a discussionboard on Yashica cameras? Well, I noticed there was a forum for pentax so why not Yashica? There were certainly many using them and showing their picture on for example Flickr.

And I’m glad I started it. We soon grew to over 60 users and 800 posts. I’ve learned a lot, from news about models (I thought all Yashinon lenses were M42-mount, but no) to information on how to disassamble a Electro or Lynx. I know what to look for when I buy a rangefinder now. I know what to do with a TLR and lightmeter. I’ve also seen some nice photos from our members.

It has been a period of inspiration and creation. But now I’m a bit stuck and need some input. Where do we go from here?

Newsblog at YashicaForum

Monday, December 8th, 2008

With this post I start this newsblog on YashicaForum.com

As you might have noticed the forum is a phpBB3 install available at the domains root. All things Yashica (offcourse Kyocera, Contax, Yashinon and then some is also welcome) is discussed. Welcome to join the forum :)

I felt the need to have somewhere to write about the forum, webdesign and perhaps post some longer articles that’s more appropiate in blogform. The forum will always be the main part of the site though.
